The Rocket Run (All Day)
A run to the NZ Rocketry Association, National Rocket Day
" In terms of sheer coolness, few things beat rocketry.."
Departure at 10.30 am SHARP from the BP Service Centre, Papakura.
Members are allowed to purchase components to build their own rocket, and the Rocket Association will launch it on their behalf.
It is $10.00 entry fee per person, payable at the entry to the venue.
It is a picnic theme, so bring your lunch a BBQ if you wish and a sun umbrella, as there is little natural protection from the sun.
It is weather dependent and is likely to be postponed if there is rain, low cloud cover or strong winds.
If the Rocket Event is cancelled or postponed,there will be an alternative run, also to depart same place, same time.
As the event is in the Waikato area, Waikato members are also welcome to join us at the event .

There will also be a return run with a coffee stop, at Te Kawhata, for those that wish to participate

Maitai Bay Camping Trip (4:00 PM)
A weekend camping at Maitai Bay. Head up Friday or Saturday. Maitai bay is north of Mongonui and east of Kaitaia. Please contact Terry beforehand to arrange travel and to coordinate food. The weekend is self catering but we will try to cordinate at least main meals. Camp fees to be paid on arrival.
It is surprising what you can fit into an MX5. This will be a good trial runn for those going on the "Tour De Country"

Observation Rally (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM)
Meet 1.00 at the WOW car park for a drive / observation rally with prizes. There will be a refreshment stop after the first stage - BYO flask, chairs and snack. Optional second stage - drive to Mapua for coffee or ice cream or beer. Hope to see you along!!!!
